Plans

Here we go again. We're heading west with our trailer and our well traveled companion, Ben, with no real plan and plenty of freedom to explore. We hope to really push it our first day, Wednesday, September 9th, and get as close to Kansas as possible. After that, we can take our time and maybe spend our second night in Dodge City, Kansas at a campground called Gunsmoke. Otherwise, we are on our own until Sunday when we meet up with Pat Deckert and her friend Lisa at the Lightner Campground outside of Durango, Colorado. We will stay there until Friday and hope to see as much as possible of the area and hike some trails. For Bob's 70th birthday, the kids provided us with a great list of possible attractions near our camp and money to see them. What a great way to start our adventure! From there, the whole next week we're back on our own and it's up to us to decide what to do as we go. This is our first trip to really take a relaxing attitude of stopping or turning when the mood hits us. It is the kind of travel we've always dreamed of and maybe this will really open that door and encourage us. Or, we'll go back to itineraries and heavy planning. It will be interesting.
